Job Purpose
To manage various facets of forestry operations and forest management. May include forest development, silviculture, harvesting, road construction, planning and wood sales/purchases

In this position you will have the opportunity to:
- Personal and Contractor Safet
- Manages forestry operations and forest management. May include forest management plans, forest development, silviculture, harvesting, road construction, hauling, planning and wood sales/purchases.
- Administration associated with job position (e.g. preparation of budgets, bid packages and contracts. Tracking and reporting of costs, and reviewing invoices
- Contract negotiation and implementation.
- Liaison with customers , ministries and contractors
- Complete SFI documents and participate in SFI internal and 3rd party audits
- Maintain compliance with all legislation and Certification
- Assist Forester III and Area Forest Manager with budget development and forecastin
- Participate in provincial and trade association committees
- Coordinate and lead work teams
- Coordinate and lead special projects as assigned
- Manage direct reports
What do I need to be successful?
- Minimum 3 years forestry experience
- safety conscious,
- good planning , GIS, GPS skills and ability to coordinate resource,
- cost orientated,
- good communicator and good interpersonal skills, team player,
- knowledge of applicable forestry and safety legislation,
- ability to drive in a variety of field and highway conditions,
- ability to operate a computer and supporting software,
Education
- Degree, diploma, or extensive operational background in the related field of work.
